Is My Dog a Good Candidate?
Not every dog is suited for gluten detection or allergen detection service dog work. A good candidate is usually curious, confident, motivated, willing to work, and able to recover well from distractions. Breed matters less than the individual dog’s temperament, drive, confidence, and ability to develop a strong working partnership with their handler.
During your consultation, we’ll talk honestly about your dog’s strengths, challenges, and whether this type of training is realistic for your team.
How the Consultation Works
Your consultation is held live over Zoom, making it easy to get started with personalized online service dog training no matter where you live.
Before your appointment, you'll receive instructions on how to prepare.
During the consultation, we'll discuss your goals, answer your questions, and evaluate your dog together.
If appropriate, I may ask to observe your dog's behavior during the session.

What Happens After the Consultation?
If you decide to move forward with training, we’ll create a personalized training plan based on your dog, your goals, and the type of scent detection work you need. Your program may focus on gluten detection, food allergen detection, or other specialized scent detection while also developing the service dog skills needed for your individual situation.

Training Evaluation & Consultation
The consultation fee is $100. This dedicated session allows us to discuss your needs, evaluate your dog’s potential, answer your questions, and help determine the best training path forward.
Should you decide to move forward with training, your consultation fee will be applied toward your first month's training, making your consultation essentially free.
There is no pressure to enroll. The purpose of the consultation is to help you make an informed decision about whether allergen detection training is the right fit for you and your dog.
